Team Portraits: La Casita Day School
I’ve been fortunate this year to really pursue photography as a career, rather than a hobby. As such, I’ve now got my first Portrait shoot of 2021 done. It was for the staff of a wonderful preschool. Outside, in front, cherry blossoms were blooming, and with some nice afternoon light, I thought it would be great to use that as the location for the photos.
I shot the majority of it in good light, using a diffusion disc (with my daughter helping out & holding it) and at a 50mm lens. It gave me the majority of what I wanted, but I did want to go a bit further out for some alternate photos, and chose a prime 35mm lens for that. The light was fading on me, and soon I didn’t even have to use any diffusion.
All in all, it was a great learning experience for conducting this kind of shoot, and I look forward to continuing to hone my abilities when it comes to portraits.
